  • adaptive reuse. 45,000 sf showroom.

  • A former grocery store was transformed into a premier showroom in Charleston, serving as the client’s second location within an ongoing national rollout. Continuing the design language established in the initial prototype, this showroom reinforces a unified brand experience while responding to the site’s unique context.

The existing building was dated and largely closed off from the street. To introduce visibility and invite customers in, the façade was opened with expansive glazing, creating transparency into the showroom. The storefront was then recessed 10 feet to form a generous “porch” element—an outdoor threshold that softens the transition from exterior to interior. This porch was extended by one structural bay, intentionally breaking the symmetry of the barn-like form and establishing a clear, welcoming new entry point.
